Aircraft Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying above a popular California coastline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, finally dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Videos uploaded on the internet depict the aircraft starting to spin above Huntington Beach then descending towards the edge of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the street were harmed. Details on their condition were still under review.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
The department mentioned the aircraft was linked to an annual “Cars and Copters” fundraising event scheduled for Sunday.
