Two Men Formally Indicted for Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.
Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was taken into custody following a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were seized.
